SANTO DOMINGO.- El juez Raymundo Mejía, del Primer Juzgado de la Instrucción del Distrito Nacional, otorgó al Ministerio Público solamente dos meses de prórroga para completar su investigación en el caso Coral.
El jurista redujo el plazo de cuatro meses que había solicitado dicho ministerio para concluir esta indagatoria, según publica el periódico Listín Diario, el cual agrega que dicho juez también pautó para dentro de 15 días la lectura íntegra del dispositivo del fallo, a partir de lo cual comenzará el plazo de los dos meses.

Wilson Camacho, titular de la Procuraduría Especializada de Persecución de la Corrupción Administrativa (Pepca), reaccionó a la decisión y explicó que “el Tribunal ha entendido que el Ministerio Público debe contar con el plazo razonable para desarrollar las investigaciones de este proceso por la complejidad de los mismos”.
Informó que depositó en el tribunal todos los elementos necesarios para que se le otorgara el plazo al Ministerio Público y que la defensa no depositó elementos para que fuera variada la medida de coerción.
Según las investigaciones, el Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Turística (Cestur) y el Cuerpo de Seguridad Presidencial (Cusep) incluían en sus nóminas a personas que no prestaban servicio, pero cobraban, aunque en realidad el dinero terminaba en manos de los altos mandos de esos organismos.
Por el caso están presos el exjefe de escolta del expresidente Danilo Medina, mayor general Adán Cáceres, quien supuestamente dirigía el entramado de corrupción, el teniente coronel (PN) Rafael Núñez de Aza, del sargento de la Armada Alejandro José Montero Cruz, la pastora evangélica Rossy Guzmán, su hijo Tanner Flete, y el mayor Raúl Girón Jiménez, quien cumple prisión domiciliaria en un lugar solo conocido por el Ministerio Público y el tribunal.
