Buenos Aires, 9 mar.- Los presidentes de Argentina, Alberto Fernández, y de República Dominicana, Luis Abinader, firmaron este miércoles en Buenos Aires una declaración de cooperación para el desarrollo de hidrocarburos, incluyendo la posibilidad de proyectos conjuntos en la colosal formación de Vaca Muerta.
«Estos acuerdos son muy importantes para nuestro país», destacó Abinader en un acto en la Casa Rosada, sede del Ejecutivo argentino.
El mandatario dominicano sostuvo que el acuerdo firmado en materia de hidrocarburos es «de vital importancia» para su país «en una coyuntura muy negativa en términos del precio de los hidrocarburos».
Abinader dijo que su Gobierno estudia junto a la petrolera YPF, controlada por el Estado argentino, y otras compañías del sector la posibilidad de importar combustibles líquidos.
«También vamos a evaluar la factibilidad de, en sociedad con YPF, poder explorar áreas de gas natural en Vaca Muerta, donde hay muchísimas oportunidades y que creo que pueden ser de beneficio para ambos países», afirmó.
Vaca Muerta, con epicentro en la provincia argentina de Neuquén (suroeste), es la segunda mayor reserva mundial de gas no convencional y la cuarta de petróleo de este tipo, pero su desarrollo masivo aún está en las primeras etapas.
«Vaca Muerta tiene mucho por desarrollar todavía y hay oportunidades para que trabajemos juntos», afirmó Fernández, quien, antes de este acto, mantuvo una reunión con Abinader y compartió un almuerzo con él y su comitiva.
OTROS ACUERDOS
En el acto, también se firmó una «hoja de ruta» para la implementación de un convenio bilateral en materia de trasplantes.
«Con respecto al acuerdo de trasplantes, empezamos por el área pediátrica, pero lo vamos a extender en términos generales. Vamos a recibir a los excelentes médicos argentinos, que han avanzado muchísimo en esta área», señaló Abinader.
También se suscribió un memorando de entendimiento en materia sanitaria y fitosanitaria entre los Ministerios de Agricultura de los dos países y un acuerdo de cooperación técnica para mejorar las prácticas de producción vinícola.
Abinader sostuvo que Argentina, que es un importante productor y exportador mundial de vinos, «es una gran potencia en este sector» y «puede ayudar bastante al desarrollo de la industria vinícola» dominicana «con la asesoría de los excelentes productores de Argentina».
MÁS COOPERACIÓN
Fernández destacó la «mirada común» con Abinader sobre «los problemas que enfrenta el mundo y la región» de Latinoamérica y el Caribe.
Además de los acuerdos firmados, ambos mandatarios hablaron sobre la posibilidad de cooperar en otras áreas.
Argentina ofreció cooperación en materia de desarrollo satelital, con tecnología que podría ser aplicada a la prevención ante eventos relacionados con el cambio climático.
Además, dialogaron sobre la posibilidad de cooperar en materia de medicina nuclear y sobre el sector del turismo.
